For some people who feel the childhood and adolescence in the 80s, definitely feel the fun to play arcade games such as Pac-Man, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Tetris, Galaga, and many others. What if arcade games are played in a wider coverage, call it, is played in real life not just in a machine or other electronic devices? Excitement that is trying to be presented by Pixels, the film of Adam Sandler, which acts as a producer and actor, a comedian who once amusing and entertaining in his time who still wants to prove his skills of it through this film, which unfortunately, he stumbled in the process.

By Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) as the director, Pixels tells the story of Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), a person who works at a company that provides services to install electronic devices and software childhood friends with Will Cooper (Kevin James), the American president (Kevin James as a president? Okay ...). One day, one of the US military base attacked by aliens. Apparently, the aliens attack the earth because they receive a time capsule that was sent by NASA in 1982 of the world championship Arcade Game in which at that time little Sam Brenner participate and lose while playing Donkey Kong with Eddie Plant (Peter Dinklage) as his opponent. The aliens think that the time capsule was a threat and a call for war.

Alien attacks carried to the earth using the theme arcade game that involves a classic arcade game with all its rules. Will Cooper to the position as president of Americans who have full authority, he commissioned Sam Brenner, Plant and Ludlow Lamonsoff Eddie (Josh Gad), which is an old friend he met during the world championship Arcade Games in 1982. They were assigned to draw up a strategy and trying to beat aliens. Their efforts also helped by a beautiful lieutenant colonel named Violet van Patten (Michelle Monaghan).

Adam Sandler as no tired to prove that he can still bring fresh humor in every fillmnya. Pixels seem like an ambitious project to take the hearts of the audience with all the appeal by presenting a nostalgic effect will be an arcade game, the promising star and a brilliant series of CGI effects. But unfortunately, all the elements are intended to highlight the advantages of the film is flawed by a weak and pathetic plot and script are presented.

Plots that are served very messy and there are many plot holes here and there that it should not be too dizzy thought because this film was carrying the storyline is super silly and does not make sense. Nevertheless, the plot holes and irregularities in this movie that should indeed be understandably difficult to be ignored simply because of the level of bothering the rather pronounced. When the CGI effects are being does not appear, the story is monotonous and flat was unavoidable to be highlighted.

By looking at how the chaotic plot is there, do not expect too much that his players would show optimal performance. That is because they do not have the scope to show the best acting that they could, they were confined in a weak plot and script that they have to undergo. Even so, there are still some humor that most do not invite laughter, while the rest were forced to a lot of humor funny.

In spite of it all, can not be denied the film is still very easy to be enjoyed. When watching the fight scenes were inspired by the arcade game with sederatan visual effects and CGI looks marvelous, you then will float in it and feel have fun. Like we are getting into the theme park and having fun, less like that sensation. So, if you really just want to look for entertainment only and can afford to ignore the silliness of the plot and script, Pixels is not a bad option.

My Score 6.6 of 10.0
